Dr. Greenberg Discusses Latest Trends in Plastic Surgery

At her Palo Alto, CA plastic surgery practice, Lauren Greenberg, M. D. maintains two extensive blogs focused exclusively on plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancement in the news, as it relates to her practice and patients. Recent topics include nonsurgical aesthetic enhancement with BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers, and one of the latest trends in plastic surgery: the combination of procedures known as the mommy makeover.

Dr. Lauren Greenberg, a board-certified plastic surgeon in San Jose, CA, consistently publishes thorough and insightful content focused on providing individualized patient care and exceptional results. On her blogs, Dr. Greenberg addresses the range of cosmetic surgery procedures she performs, as well as questions from her practice’s online community concerning plastic surgery and current events, aesthetic enhancement expectations, and important patient concerns expressed either online or in her office.

In a post titled, “BOTOX and Droopy Eyelids. What Happened?” Dr. Greenberg discusses the most common complications associated with the nonsurgical wrinkle reducer BOTOX Cosmetic®: bruising and eyelid droop. While she stresses that few complications occur with the injections, the muscle that controls the blinking reflex in the eyelid can be affected and temporarily weakened. In the post however, Dr. Greenberg is quick to diffuse the possibility of permanent drooping: “If [eyelid dropping] does happen, there are eye drops which help correct it, and the effect wears off.”

Another popular topic that appears on Dr. Greenberg’s plastic surgery blog is the mommy makeover and the combination of procedures that comprise this latest trend. Whether combining liposuction, a tummy tuck, or breast augmentation, Dr. Greenberg addresses a number of common patient concerns, as well as typical expectations and recommendations. In a post titled, “Breast Implants. Can You Go AA to DD? Supersize me?” Dr. Greenberg addresses the desire for bigger breast implants and the importance of combining a patient’s desired results with her expertise as a plastic surgeon to ensure lasting results are achieved. She stresses the need to consider the future and the appropriate implant size for each patient’s body. “Take a long-term view. Bigger is not always better.”

Ultimately, Dr. Greenberg says she believes her blogs interject a necessary voice into the online plastic surgery community. By addressing the mix of specific patient concerns and current aesthetic enhancement topics, she says she is able provide some much needed support to a wider audience that is likely to have similar questions.
