Can anyone do any size in the new style 410 gummy bear gel breast implant?

I was asked this question recently, and thought it would be good to share as a blog.

QUESTION: “Can I do any size in the gummy bear implant?”

What my patient was asking was “can I go from an A to a C? D? DD? and still use the new gummy bear implant?”

ANSWER: No.  You can’t do all ranges of size increases with the gummy bear implant.  For my patients who want a small increase or those who want a larger increase, the gummy bear may not be an option.  The gummy bear style 410 gel breast implant comes in four basic sizes for a given chest wall width.

As the 410 is a shaped anatomical implant, it is structured and doesn’t “move” in a pocket the way round smooth implants do.  Because of this structure and shape, you need to abide by your chest wall measurements.

I have found women in whom I would recommend a medium profile implant tend to be good candidates for the style 410.  Those who want a lot of fullness and projection, full or round upper pole cleavage, and larger size change OR those women looking for a very modest small size change may not be good candidates.
